Im so confused with Catholicism and Christianity! HELP?

Someone said Catholicism is Christianity? Im confused. Im trying to battle and see which one my beliefs suit well with. My ENTIRE family is Christian and Im going to be the first to not be. Something about it doesnt seem right to me. I am not going to follow something just because my family does. Im going to do whatever fits me best.
