Our group moderator died, how do we promote a new moderator?

The group is 'Cary Players', the owner was Wilson Pietzsch, I want to become the new owner/moderator (BoatsRocker@yahoo.com), we need this transition to happen asap since we want to post info on his memorial service to the group ASAP. Help! Is there a Yahoo phone number I can call to discuss this urgent matter?
