Is the current behavior of republicans an indication of the end of the party?

I actually wish the GOP could get itself straightened out. I may be a Liberal but having an opposing viewpoint has tremendous merit because no one can ever think of everything; so, the more diveregent viewpoints on an issue you can get, the better it is to address and solve a problem. What we don't need (but have been getting too much of) are opposing viewpoints which are not based on logic, facts or that have the average, hard-working American's welfare in mind.
