How can I grow my hair out so it looks like this?

I usually never grow out my hair, except for 2 years ago and it was barely long.I wanted to actually grow it out this year for my senios season in Football, which is next July, summer camp starts.I want it to look like Clay Matthews (although I hate him because he went to USC and is on the packer) hair in this pic: http://images.athlonsports.com/d/14685-1/ClayMatthews.jpg but what I'm really looking for is A.J.
